Ben and my mother circa 2004
I took him today for the first time to visit my mom. He is a has been certified as a therapy dog, but the Alzheimer unit is pretty rough even for those who understand what's going on.
Of course nothing phased him including the woman who tried to chase him in a walker (slow speed). I took him less for my mom than comfort for myself. She did not recognize him, but thought he was very cute and gave her something to focus on for a minute or so.
He had a lot more fun as we were leaving the bldg and met up with some of the more functional patients.
After all, he does like to be adored!
