The swim team!
Focus has a soft tissue injury of some sort, it has been occurring, healing and reocurring over the last 9 months. Agility is not a possibility. The orthopedic specialist suggested I go to Maryland to get treatment, hmmm, not an option this week. So we have become swimmers. Focus gets to swim 3 times a week in a dive pool 30 feet long. My hope is that he will build up muscle in his shoulders (where we suspect, but don't know for sure) the injury is. The vet could not even determine which leg, however, the limping was very obvious. Poppy decided to accompany him, and now gives him a run for his milkbones in the quest to grab the floaty frisbee first. Watch her tail, it's definately a rudder, and the cool thing about her, is that her bottom half sinks repeatedly, but she doesn't panic and just swims thru it. Most corgis would not either swim voluntarily, nor retrieve the frisbee. At first, everytime she grabbed the frisbee, she would raise her head and disappear under the surface, but she figured out how to hold the frisbee and swim at the same time. Good girl! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SpmH2u5K2o

Aww man I'm sorry to hear that about Fo. Kate's sisters both went to the dr in MD, as well as a few of my other friends have taken dogs there. Dr Canapp is a miracle worker. If you have the money and time, he will fix Focus and he is like the god of shoulder work. Give Fo a scratch for me.
ReplyDeleteVideo is pretty funny! Pop is such a cool dog.

ReplyDeleteThat is amAzing! What funny things she does with her ears, almost like they're for lateral stabilization or something!
