I would tell you that Craigslist is a very poor way to find a dog, and having said that, may I introduce Clark Kent?
Ben was $65 dollars, Clark was $60. Ben, is, at any price, the best investment I have ever made in my life.
Clark/Bear was first posted on CraigsList when he was a very cute 6 month old puppy. I tried to adopt him then, but the owner disappeared after responding to me. She then reposted 2 weeks later adding a cocker spaniel to the mix, and again disappeared after again agreeing to meet. She posted again last week, a vet tech at Dr B's office called me. She surrendered him to Dr B's office this afternoon. He looks shell shocked and a bit sad, but he has never had any heartworm preventative, vax, or been neutered because the owner could not afford it. However, she left the card of the groomer that she took him to on a regular basis, how weird is that?
I have no idea how this will all play out, but I think it was meant to be.
Amazing how much he looks like Ben - especially the pic of Ben on your blog! I think Clark Kent is an awesome name. He's from a foreign place (anyone who would advertise their dog as available on Craigs List is certainly from a different planet than we are so to speak). He clearly has super powers - just looking at his picture makes me smile! All in all it's perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteLet me know when/where you sign him up for intro to agility - I want to get Spice started!
They do look alike - it's the grin maybe?
