How to fit cancer into a busy lifestyle?

Before I was diagnosed with cancer - I felt slightly overwhelmed with my life as it is.  I have a house on 1 acre of land - 10 dogs, and 2 jobs.  Add cancer, 2 surgeries (not sure if there are more in my future yet) and 7 - 10 days of 2 times/day 1 hour before the actual radiation treatment to make sure the device is still in the correct place.

I still have to maintain my 10 dogs (feed, play, etc) , do laundry, keep the house maybe only slightly unsightly, feed myself,  have 2+ hours/day radiation and ct scans, and work 8 hours/day.  And also take care of my neighbors dogs for 5 day in addition (this week only).

Plus there is the "tiredness factor".  Somehow, my body needs time to recover from all the petty and not so petty injustices done to it, but I don't have time..the day after surgery I am back to work at one job, 4 days later, back to the other as well.

The cool thing is, if I make through all of this, my formerly overcrowded life will seem like a piece of cake!

  1. Thank. It makes me feel great when I read all these stories. It helps me from hopelessness and make me more stronger to fly… thank… for everything.

  2. Good thing you have a friend who's retired, has only 4 dogs, just 1/3 of an acre, doesn't give two hoots in hell about housework or laundry, and is entirely willing to help you through this horrid ordeal -- whatever you need, my dear!

  3. Sal is the best. Truly. :) I wish there was more I could do. I even wish I could say, hey I know what you're going through but what I've been through is so different. I am sending all the good thoughts into the universe that I can for you. I hope you can recover from this stronger than ever.
