Friends make a difference
Pictured is a very cheery Nurse Sally in dog themed scrubs, preparing to change my bandages.
There have been some things that my friends have done that have taken my breath away -for the courage it took to do - most notably Sally going through 2 surgeries (actually 3 if you count the insertion of the catheter) - 1 bad news day, 2 days of bandage changes and many very whiney phone calls. Sometimes it's hard to remember when you are going through a crisis, if someone chooses to help you, it also takes a toll on their life and energy.
The most cheering show of support this week came from Bob - who met me for lunch on Monday wearing a pink - fight breast cancer baseball hat. I wish I had gotten a picture of it. Thank you Bob, that was most awesome - it has made me smile all week.
