I worked at my last job for 2 years altho not unhappy there I kept getting called by head hunters and out of curiousity I put myself out there. Went for 5 job interviews ( in my life total, I have not had that many), there were 2 jobs that I was really sad not to get and at that point, I started to lose interest. After all, it's hard to look for a job when you have one, there is only so many doctors appts and even sick days you can take without feeling furtive. The headhunter called me with one more job. I was almost angry, how many times can you change clothes in a Burger King, and this job asked for 3 interviews, I'm sorry, but just don't have time in my busy schedule for it. After the first interview, I was kind of hooked, but finding out that I had to interview with the Director of IT and the Director of Finance, I almost backed out.
It turned out to be the job of a life time really - I love it there... of course a job is a job and it's not always perfect, but this is as close as it gets for me.
Last week I found out that at my last job, they laid off 10 people from IT after selling the company - they laid off the people with the least seniority, and guess what... that would have been me on my team.
Someone is looking out for me! Thank you!
That's awesome Bev - I'm so happy you are happy in your job!
